AGRONOMY SALES REPRESENTATIVE

Promote the proper use of crop protection products, plant food, seed, seed treatments, precision, precision planting, Climate/Field view and other services offered by White River CO-OP to area producers by building customer relationships that help grow sales for White River CO-OP.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Conveys a positive attitude and promotes White River CO-OP’s vision for the future.
  • Develops annual farmer/customer programs that include soil testing, field mapping, product recommendations, timely and accurate application, field monitoring as needed, record keeping, and follow-up calls.
  • Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads and executes individual customer sales strategies.
  • Executes sales calls with regular and prospective customers to solicit orders.
  • Adheres to White River CO-OP’s pricing policies and credit terms.
  • Interprets soil sample results and makes fertilizer application recommendations.
  • Services customer’s agronomic needs.
  • Prepares reports as requested by the C.E.O.
  • Performs assigned duties in the absence of the Branch Manager.
  • Attends 75% of the weekly sales meetings.
  • Sets up 3 plots/year. 2 with current customers. 1 with a prospective customer.
  • Weekly call logs completed and turned into the Sales Manager.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
  • Attends 75% of the weekly sales meetings.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree (B. S.) from four-year College or university; or 4 or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Accounting software; Database software; Internet software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software. As well as logistics software.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Valid CDL with required endorsements, Certified Crop Advisor.

Other Skills and Abilities
Voluntary training in providing First Aid and CPR.
